How We Do Family Game Night Using Only Browser Games
We don’t own a bunch of consoles, and we’re not setting up four controllers in the living room. But we still wanted a regular family game night that wasn’t just watching a movie together in silence.
The solution ended up being surprisingly simple: one laptop, a TV, and a handful of browser games that everyone can take turns with.
Our Simple Setup
We plug the laptop into the TV, mirror the screen, and use a mix of keyboard and mouse depending on the game. Sometimes one person controls while the rest of us shout advice; sometimes we pass the controls around each round.
Because everything runs in a browser, we don’t have to worry about installing things on different devices or arguing over whose account to use.
Picking Games Everyone Can Play
We stick to games with simple controls and clear goals – puzzles, simple platformers, drawing games, and light party‑style games. If someone can understand it by watching for a minute, it’s good enough.
It’s not about high scores; it’s about laughing together. Browser games turned out to be more than enough for that.
